His research areas include econometric modelling and the methodological evaluation of econometric techniques. His concern for maintaining high standards in university education led him to an active involvement over many years in local, national and international activities to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. A number of these activities are ongoing. He has a particular focus on statistics education, and is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Statistics Education, and online journal of the American Statistical Association.
